Vaibhav tatwawaadi to play the male lead in the historical biopic manikarnika: the queen of jhansi
Vaibhav Tatwawaadi who is known for his role of Chimaji Appa in Bajirao Mastani, will be the male lead in the historical biopic, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. He will be seen romancing Ankita Lokhande on screen as Puran Singh, the main soldier in Rani Laxmibai’s army. Rani Laxmibai’s role is being essayed by Kangana Ranaut, whereas Ankita Lokhande will be seen playing the role of Jhalkaribai opposite Vaibhav Tatwawaadi. Vaibhav stated, “ My role has action, romance and drama. Infact Ankita and mine is the only love story in the movie. My fans will get to see me doing horse riding, sword fighting and a lot of action sequences in the movie. Chimaji Appa and Puran Singh are from totally distinct eras as well as societal and economic classes of those times. Chimaji was a brahmin born in the Peshwa family with a silver spoon in his mouth and Puran Singh comes from a very humble dalit background. However, at the core both were strong, brave men who were great strategists”. Vaibhav’s last Bollywood film, Lipstick Under My Burkha was critically acclaimed by the critics and the audience. He has already shot for Manikarnika partly and will again be shot after wrapping up his Marathi film, “What’s Up Lagna’s” schedule. Vaibhav Tatwawaadi started his journey 5 years back and within a short span of time has managed to create a niche for himself in Marathi as well as mainstream Hindi cinema.
