In ‘Doosri Maa’, Yashoda and Krishna set out on a journey to Haridwar-Rishikesh to find Ashok!
&TV’s family drama, #DoosriMaa, never fails to entertain its viewers with interesting plot twists and turns. In the show, Ashok (Mohit Dagga) goes missing after his wife, Yashoda (Neha Joshi), learns that Krishna (Aayudh Bhanushali) is his and Mala’s (Nidhi Uttam) child. While everyone is looking for him, Yashoda and Krishna set out on a journey to find Ashok. This journey takes them through the lanes and ghats of the holy towns of Haridwar and Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. They learn he was last seen here, and in his grief, he has decided to become a hermit and leave everything behind to repent.
Neha Joshi essaying Yashoda, says, “Yashoda is living through the most difficult time of her life after discovering that Krishna is her husband’s illegitimate child. And as she struggles to accept the truth, Ashok, her biggest supporter, goes missing. Viewers will see Yashoda embark on a journey with Krishna to find him. The journey may be emotional on-screen, but I had a lot of fun shooting off-screen. Shooting in holy cities like Haridwar and Rishikesh was a blissful experience. Our mornings would be waking up to the sounds of bells on the banks of the Ganga Ghats—a beautiful way to begin our day that would bring a positive vibe. People around us instantly recognized us and would approach us to take selfies and compliment us on our show and characters. It truly made our day interacting in person with our audience, who would gather around our sets, watch the shoot and get us homemade food at times to taste. These small gestures made a huge difference to us. We thoroughly enjoyed these beautiful moments. Even though it was my visit to Uttarakhand, I must say, their people’s warmth and affection made us feel special, and we hope to keep coming back for more.”
Aayudh Bhanushali, aka Krishna, shares, “Yashoda Maa and I arrived in Uttarakhand to bring my father, Ashok, home. We had a great time shooting this significant track in the beautiful city. We explored the city as much as we could during our limited stay there. We shot at popular places like Har Ki Pauri, Ram Jhula, and Laxman Jhula. I had only heard about these places but had never been there. During the visit, Neha Aai and I enjoyed roaming the streets and gorging on delicious food like aloo puri, samosa, chaat and Malai vali lassi. Also, shopping in Haridwar was not really on our agenda. Still, we could not help picking up several tiny Shivlings (a representation of Lord Shiva) cast in stone for our family members. Also, I was delighted to do Ganga Aarti.”
Mohit Dagga, aka Ashok, shared, “Haridwar and Rishikesh are two of my favourite tourist destinations. The location was quite breathtaking. An outdoor shoot is always exciting and challenging as one has to wrap up shoots in a limited time. There is an interesting twist in the track where Ashok goes missing fearing to be confronted with the situation. After wrapping up the day’s shoot, I would explore nearby places. Seeing the famous Hari ki Pauri and having Darshan in the temple were among my top priorities when I arrived in the Holy City. I was impressed by the beauty of the location the moment I saw it. It was also the first time I shot a sequence where I was seen performing puja inside the holy Ganga water. Even though the water was very cold that day, I could easily shoot the sequence. The entire shooting experience was unforgettable, and we made many happy memories in the cities of Haridwar and Rishikesh. We have an interesting plot coming up, and I am sure the viewers will be glued to their television screen to know how the drama unfolds.”
Watch Doosri Maa at 8:00 pm, airing every Monday to Friday on &TV.
