The wedding sangeet of Mehzabeen and Ammar was themed around the glittering magic of the cosmos!
Trust award-winning wedding and luxe-event designer, Ambika Gupta to create magical themes that have never been visualized before. Take the recent Sangeet of Mehzabeen and Ammar that Ambika turned into a glittering cosmos. Titled ‘Starry Nights’, the event conjured the glittering, magical stardust of the celestial night sky. Ambika says, “I drew inspiration from everything from the milky way to iconic Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama’s famous, immersive installation ‘Infinity Mirror Room’ and Van Gogh’s nightscapes where stars shine forth from vibrant swirls of energy. I wanted to blur the lines between reality and cosmic eternity and felt overjoyed when everyone who walked into the venue felt transported into a galaxy of stars.”
Mehzabeen and Ammar, she says, were totally on board with the concept. “They were thrilled with the way a star-speckled night sky enveloped them as well as the guests,” she adds.
Ambika says, “We had visualized an entrance which was an ethereal walkthrough of Van Gogh’s famous masterpiece, ‘The Starry Night’ and then expanded across many dimensions with magnificent & futuristic installations and décor elements. Everywhere the guests turned, there was a visual treat waiting for them!”
She recalls how thrilled the guests were as they gasped with awe at the shooting stars above their heads and adds, “We wanted to recreate the couple’s brief and create a sublime and mystical atmosphere that was as breath-taking as their love story. The venue seemed limitless with layers upon layers of light, a gloriously lit-up canopy, seamlessly integrated multimedia, special effects, and multiple projections. It was very fulfilling to create an experience which was thoroughly enjoyed by the couple, their families, and friends.”
To add more detailing to the ambiance, Ambika also added many evocative floral centerpieces and an array of softly glowing candles. She says, “The pièce de résistance was the grand bar with a stunning backdrop of projections and a larger-than-life moon hanging overhead.”
