Devotional programme ‘Gajar Kirtanacha’ back with fresh episodes

Maharashtra has a long tradition of Kirtan. This tradition has been going on with the saint tradition. For Bhajan-Kirtan the audience remembers the programme ‘Gajar Kirtanacha’ on ‘Zee Talkies’. Being one of the most popular shows, it rules the audiences’ hearts.

Kirtan came to the small screen through this programme and the presenters of this program singer Kartiki Gaikwad and compère Deepti Bhagwat also contributed to this journey of social enlightenment with their statements. During lockdown repeats of programme were run and now the makers are gearing up to telecast new episodes of Gajar Kirtanacha. The shoot has already started albeit taking safety measurements. Presently shoot is going on in Parli (Beed) and Deepti Bhagwat also took part in it. The entire team travels to the location to finish shoot as early as possible so that the audience can watch the new episodes. The entire team, including cast, at the same time take proper precautions.

Speaking on the occasion, presenter Deepti Bhagwat said, “Recently, I shot for a programme ‘Gajar Kirtanacha’ at Parli Vaijnath in a 3-day schedule. Currently, a lot of changes have taken place during the shooting. I also had to acquire E-Pass. I also had to get a medical certificate from a doctor and completed a lot of formalities. After reaching Parli, we took care of a lot of things while shooting. Before starting shooting, our temperature is checked, the whole team wears masks, full time. The place where we go to shoot is constantly sanitized. The technical team also takes care of it. They wear gloves and goggles. So safety is taken care of while shooting. It was a bit stressful for the family to come so far from home. The real Lord is associated with devotion and full care is taken in the filming so this fear is lessened. Gajar Kirtan’s positive thoughts are constantly conveyed to the audience through this programme, so many people get up after watching this program in this time of crisis. My prayer to God is that this crisis be averted as soon as possible. But nowadays, everyone should be vigilant.  Only if you take good care of yourself will you take care of your family and your country.”
