Chance Perdomo reveals what he loves about the upcoming The Boys spin-off: Gen V!

Set in the diabolical world of The Boys, Prime Video’s upcoming highly anticipated The Boys spin-off: Gen V expands the universe to Godolkin University, the prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes—preferably with lucrative endorsements. As the students vie for popularity and good grades, it’s clear that the stakes are much higher when super powers are involved. Amongst the eclectic mix of actors, the show stars Chance Perdomo (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Killed by my Debt, After Series) as Andre Anderson, a junior at Godolkin University with magnetic powers.

Chance got candid about loving the fantasy fiction Amazon original. He said, “What do I personally love about the show? I love that it is a social commentary without it inherently being a philosophical commentary, that it speaks to our society as a whole but doesn’t kind of penalize or chastise anybody for the answers that they come to.” Further commenting on how the narrative was free from any judgments for its multifaceted characters, Chance said, “The parts of the story that resonate for me is that it really showcases the human aspects, powers or no powers, that there’s something universal about everybody doing the best that they can with the cards that they have. Because that’s true for everyone on the planet. And I think it’s really beautiful that this show doesn’t cast judgment on a certain way to be. It just allows people to be people, the characters to be the characters, and the chips fall as they may as they do what they can.”

Giving a fun tid-bit from his shoot, Chance also mentioned how the fresh batch had an impromptu karaoke with one of the OGs of the original show The Boys. “I’ve got a really good story that in the beginning, just before we started filming, we went out to Koreatown and did some karaoke, and Nathan, who plays Black Noir, came out and showed some love and we sang a few songs.” he said.

The series cast includes Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi. Gen V also features guest stars Clancy Brown and Jason Ritter, as well as appearances from Jessie T. Usher, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit and P.J. Byrne, reprising their roles from The Boys. The spinoff premieres exclusively on Prime Video in 240+ countries and territories worldwide, on September 29.
