Actress Yaaneea Bharadwaj advises, ‘Indian girls should learn sword fighting and Nunchak’

On the eve of Independence Day 2020, actress Yaaneea Bharadwaj of Excel Entertainment /Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Made in Heaven’ fame has urged both urban and rural Indian girls to learn self defence techniques such as Nunchaku (Nunchak) and Sword fighting if they want to stay safe and fit while chasing their dreams and ambitions. Yaaneea is a rare actress who practices Nunchak and sword fighting in her hometown in Himachal Pradesh where she is stationed during the lockdown. In fact, Yaaneea got a role in a TVC with Hritihik Roshan because of her Nunchak skill and expertise.

Yaaneea says, “As an actress aspiring for world cinema and international entertainment projects, I wanted to dare to do something different – nunchucks and swords excites me .. I feel I am connected to them and I feel strong. I love practising with sword and Nunchak to remain fighting fit. And all Indian girls in urban and rural India should learn and practice them. In fact, some villagers in HP gave me a rare historic artefact sword to practice.” She add, “As an actress I can position myself differently. Nowadays, international warrior series such as ‘Cursed’ and ‘The Witcher’ are on top of the charts and I want to become the first Indian actress with sword fighting capabilities to get a role in such prestigious global projects.” It’s important to point out that due to her Himalayan descent and origins, Yaaneea has a rare international look and recently eminent photographer Vikram Bawa did a photoshoot featuring her.
