Enjoy ‘Nutan Ji’ special episode in II14 with Mohnish Bahl Ekta, and Pranutan!
This Sunday, #SonyEntertainmentTelevision’s beloved singing reality show, #IndianIdol14, will be “#CelebratingNutanJi” in a special episode that will be graced by the late actress’s family members. Ace actor #MohnishBahl, accompanied by his wife, #EktaSohini, and daughters, Pranutan and Krishaa, will be present for the heartfelt tribute to Nutan ji, showcased by the top 10 contestants.
But it was Nagpur Cha Mulgaa – Utkarsh Wankhede, whose marvelous performance of the songs, “Dil Ka Bhanwar Kare Pukar” and the title track from the film “Tere Ghar Ke Saamne”, earned him a standing ovation. An impressed Mohnish Bahl complimented him, saying, “I am an ardent follower of Indian Idol, but the live experience is outstanding. Utkarsh, the upcoming actors are immensely lucky to have you doing playback for them in the future.”
Furthermore, he shared an anecdote about Nutan Ji’s shooting of “Dil Ka Bhanwar Kare Pukar” at The Qutub Minar. Mohnish Bahl recalled, “I remember that Mom (Nutan Ji) shared an incident where a large crowd blocked Qutub Minar from all sides, and the shooting of ‘Dil Ka Bhanwar Kare Pukar’ was halted midway. As Devanand Saab and Nutan Ji were superstars, a huge crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse. Unfortunately, only one phase of the exterior or interior location was shot but a replica of the monument was made at Mehboob Studio to finish the remaining part. That was the last song which was shot at Qutub Minar.”
In the show, when host Hussain asked Ekta Sohini about her first meeting with Nutanji, Ekta shared, “I remember she had come for a shoot, and it was hugely crowded. And, out of curiosity, I was constantly looking at her. She noticed me and called me near her, fixing my hair with a bob pin. At the time, I didn’t know I would be married to her son. I considered that incident as a blessing that eventually got me into Nutanji’s family as her son’s wife.”
Further, Pranutan reveals how she was named, saying, “My grandfather named me; he wanted to name me after his late wife, ‘Nutan.’ However, at the request of my dad, who couldn’t bring himself to call me Nutan out of respect for his mom, I was named Pranutan, which means a new life.’
Lastly, Utkarsh shared that his mother is a huge fan of Nutan Ji and she had read about Chawalichi Amti, Bhakri, and Loncha being a favorite in Nutan Ji’s renowned book ‘Nutan Asen Mi Nasen Mi.’ So Utkarsh’s mother prepared the food and Utkarsh further served the same dishes to Nutan Ji’s family, followed by the Judges, allowing them to savor the best of Maharashtrian cuisine.
This Sunday, don’t forget to tune into Indian Idol Season 14 at 8 PM, on Sony Entertainment Television.
