Ashram : Most recently, Aashram has incited a buzz in the OTT space like no other series and Chandan’s performance in it registers as one of the most impressive ones. In Jha’s directorial, the versatile actor essays the role of an aide to a conniving self-styled godman, Baba Nirala, played by Bobby Deol. Chandan’s portrayal of Baba’s right-hand has amassed rave reviews from the critics. Aashram depicts the corruption and crime that happens under the guise of faith. While the series raises the issue of challenging beliefs, Chandan hits the nail on its head with his act as Bhopa Swami who carries out the operations of Baba Nirala’s aashram.
Kaali Season 2 : After the success of Season 1, Kaali Season 2 was received with due anticipation. The series shows a middle-aged woman getting embroiled in a gang war and she must race against time to save her ailing son in its midst. Chandan essays a grey role in Season 2 of ‘Kaali’. He plays an underworld don, Swapan, who emerges from the underbelly of Shanghai and wants to reclaim its glory. Embodying the role was a challenge for the actor, whose character suffers from paralysis and is on a wheelchair. What makes him an interesting villain is that he is physically weak, but his courage is unmatched. The bilingual series turned out to be immensely popular among Hindi and Bengali-speaking viewers.
Bhram : Chandan is known to have signed on projects that are premised on concepts never tried before. His web series Bhram was one among them. It is a psychological horror/thriller, in which the protagonist suffers from PTSD and goes through all kinds of extremes to unearth a long-forgotten truth. The past reveals new truths and changes everything for the protagonist. Chandan is seen essaying the character of Inspector Rawat, who has many layers to his personality that includes grey shades. As it streamed, the eight-episode web series made the desired impact of keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.
Hawa Badle Hassu : In line with headlining unique ventures, Chandan signed on for Hawa Badle Hassu. Quite interestingly, the actors essays the role of a professor and an undercover rickshawala. The one-of-a-kind show is an environmental sci-fi thriller which has its share of social comedy and the allure of the sci-fi genre. Hawa Badle Hassu intends to give out a strong message on environment sustainability and critical lifestyle changes, through futuristic storytelling. Chandan plays the title role of Professor Hasmukh Pandey a.k.a Hassu, who rides an eco-friendly rickshaw and spreads awareness about environment conservation while talking to his passengers. The talented actor is shown as someone who is conscious of the environment and makes it his life’s mission to educate his passengers about conserving it. Chandan confesses that the character is one of the most memorable ones of his career.
