‘Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya’ actor Ashish Dixit reminisces about his sister and Raksha Bandhan!

With #RakshaBandhan around the corner, #AshishDixit, the lead actor in #SunNeo’s Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, reflects on the deep bond he shares with his sister and reminisces about the cherished memories they’ve created together, which have left a lasting impact on his life.

Opening up about the festival’s importance to him, Ashish shared, “Raksha Bandhan is a celebration of the bond between brother and sister, where a sister ties a rakhi on her brother’s wrist as a symbol of protection in all situations, from health to wealth. Although my sister lives in Banaras and, for various reasons, cannot come here, she sends me a rakhi, and we celebrate by talking on a video call and sharing our feelings.”

The talented actor also revealed a profound moment where he believes his sister’s blessings saved him. “I recall a special memory from when I was ill with typhoid. She was with me, and on that day, she tied a rakhi on my wrist and assured me I would get better soon. Despite being sick for two or three days before, I felt completely fine after that day. I believe I recovered because of her rakhi, which made me feel special and happy.”

Reflecting on his efforts to make his sister feel special, Ashish reminisced, “When I was seven years old, I didn’t know what to give my sister as a gift. I always saw my uncle giving gifts to my mum, so I started saving money in my piggy bank. At that time, my parents would give gifts to my sister. One day, I overheard my sister telling my mom that she wanted mehendi, but for some reason, my mom couldn’t get the cone. On Raksha Bandhan, I went out and bought a box of mehendi cones for her. I was so excited to give it to her, and she was so happy when I did. She still remembers that and shares the story with everyone.”

Lastly, revealing who he shares a sibling bond with on the set of Sun Neo’s Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, Ashish said, “On the set, Nishi is like my sister; she calls me Bhai, and I call her Behena. She is a good person and a beautiful soul.”

Ashish plays the lead role of Kartik in Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, airing on Sun Neo. The show is a heartwarming family drama that centers on Vaishnavi (played by Brinda Dahal), an orphan who reveres Chhathi Maiyya (portrayed by Devoleena Bhattacharjee) as her mother.
