Celesti Bairagey expresses that Karate Girls is not just about the martial art or self-defense!
Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free video streaming platform, recently released Karate Girls, a coming-of-age drama that follows the journey of two starkly opposite girls, Abha and Komal, who are forced to set aside their differences and come together for a shared purpose. As they navigate their adolescent years through the strict world of karate and take the first steps toward adulthood, the series explores themes of self-discovery, personal growth, friendship, and determination. Karate Girls boasts a stellar cast, including #AshleshaThakur, #CelestiBairagey, #ManavGohil, and #MeiyangChang in key roles. With its engaging premise, heartfelt moments, and unexpected plot twists, the series keeps viewers glued to their devices – from making them laugh to moving them to tears.
Celesti Bairagey, who essays the role of Abha Kadam, shares her views on what makes this series special, noting, “You’ve probably seen many shows and films based on karate or martial arts, but what makes this one special is how deeply karate is woven into the story. It’s not just about the martial arts or self-defense. It plays a pivotal role in shaping each character’s growth and development. Combined with a strong, talented cast, this is what truly makes the show stand out.”
Celesti also reveals what made her give a nod to the series, sharing, “The first thing that made me say yes to the series is the title – Karate Girls. I knew I’d get to play one of the girls and have the opportunity to learn karate, which piqued my interest. As a child, I always wanted to learn boxing, but my father wouldn’t allow it. He worried about injuries, like getting punched hard enough to almost break your nose. But I got the chance to train in karate through Abha, and I couldn’t have been more excited.”
Karate Girls is now available to stream for free on Amazon MX Player, available through its apps on mobile, Amazon shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Connected TVs.
