Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar says, “Allu Arjun is a Superstar”!

Renowned filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, known for his critically acclaimed films like #ChandniBar and #Fashion, recently shared his thoughts on Indian cinema’s enduring legacy of superstars during a podcast. In a candid discussion about the evolution of stardom in the Indian film industry, Bhandarkar highlighted iconic actors who have left an indelible mark on cinema over the decades.

Reflecting on the journey of superstars from the golden era to the present, Bhandarkar said, “The stars of Indian cinema, not just now but if you have to list it from the 50s till now—#DevAnand, #RajKapoor, #DilipSaab, #RajeshKhanna sir, #Dharmendraji, #AmitabhBachchanji—and obviously if we see #ShahRukh, #Salman, they are all superstars, real superstars, which is madness.”

Adding to his admiration for the current generation of actors, Bhandarkar singled out South Indian actor #AlluArjun as a true superstar of today’s era. “In today’s day and age, I think Allu Arjun is a superstar,” he remarked.

Allu Arjun’s meteoric rise to pan-Indian fame, especially after the massive success of Pushpa: The Rise (2021), has earned him immense love and recognition across the country. His powerful performances and charismatic screen presence have cemented his position as one of the leading actors in Indian cinema.
