Best Party of the year 2020
On 27th September the world is celebrating the #WorldTourismDay. On this year’s World Tourism Day I remember of a tour to Goa, taken a few days ago, in pandemic times. As the world was under lockdown and corona threat is still looming large on everyone’s head, our Goa tour becomes doubly memorable. Everyone likes to attend parties. But if the host is generosity personified, then amplitude of the fun is ten fold while attending that party. Had an opportunity to attend such a grand party where the host was commendably generous.
#RonnieRodrigues fits the above bill in toto. He definitely is a person generosity exemplified. And mind you there are minuscule in number these days. Ronnie sir successfully heads the #PearlGroupOfCompanies and is an editor of a noted English film magazine #CineBuster and on the occasion of completing a half century of his arrival on this earth, threw a lavish party for his family, friends and employees. His generosity has no bounds because he never discriminates while imparting it. Everybody is treated equal, irrespective of social standing of the person. Of course that makes him darling of his friends and the employees go out of the way in productivity.
So, talking about Best Party of the year 2020, first thing first. Usually Ronnie sir, desists from celebrating his birthday but this year he has completed #GoldenJubilee. This Being corona pandemic infected year, the party could not be held at Mumbai, due to various restrictions. So Ronnie sir, decided to have in Goa, which is the least corona affected state. So all of us were airlifted to Goa for the grand celebration of Ronnie sir’s #50thBirthday.
After reaching #ChhatrapatiShivajiTerminal #T2 in #Mumbai, where authorities are very strict with large congregations, we all boarded a flight to Goa. The airlines take care of passengers in Covid-era and everyone is provided with #Masks, Face Shields and #PPE gowns for middle seat passengers. A point to be mentioned here is that it was a day flight and not a ‘Red-Eye’ flight. (Red Eye flights are at odd hours and cheaper). May be the Captain of the plane was more eager than us to reach Goa, because we landed before time, 15 min ahead of arrival time. After collecting baggage, multiple luxurious cars were waiting for us outside Dabolim airport who took us to the hotel.
Everyone, repeat everyone, was accommodated in a #FiveStarHotel, #HyattCentric. It’s on the border of #Calangute and #Candolim. After lunch and a tour around, Ronnie sir gifted 2.5 kgs of dry fruits to every invitee. Even each room was provided with choicest of drinks before dinner. Next day after having sumptuous breakfast everyone ventured out for shopping etc. Though #Goa is the least Corona affected, most of the shops were closed. Interestingly all liquor shops were open.
It was a party time then. Everyone was dressed up and was eager to party. (May be the six months lockdown period was taking it’s toll). Ronnie sir arrived in style and were greeted with thunderous applause. After cutting cake the cocktails were served. Ronnie sir, loves his family a lot and all the time he was involving his children in all the festivities. He even cut the cake with his children holding the knife.
All types of booze was flowing and importantly a #DJALEXMumbai, who was specially flown in all the way from Mumbai by Ronnie sir, was playing some gratifying music. Centre of attraction was Ronnie sir, who gyrated to the popular film number, showing his prowess in dancing. In fact, he induced everyone, including non-dancers, to be on the dance floor. Dancing, boozing was going on till wee hours and after beautifully laid out dinner everyone retired to bed.
Next day, was hard for everyone as all of us had to leave Goa. All of us reached Mumbai with the memories of the best party of the corona-pandemic times. Everyone who visited Goa, courtesy Ronnie sir, (and who couldn’t make it) wish Happy Birthday to Ronnie sir once again and a thought crosses mind if he could celebrate his birthday every month…….
Thank You Ronnie sir for #TheBestPartyOfTheYear2020.
