‘Tehas Nehas steps are mix of hip hop and bollywood‘ says choreographer Rajit Dev
A new song titled Tehas Nehas from the film Kaali Peeli has two young actors Ishaan Khattar and Ananya Pandey dancing to the tune, the peppy number has just been released. It is choreographed by Rajit Dev, whose recent work Pachtaoge with Nora Fatehi has been well accepted. Speaking about working with Ananya and Ishaan, Rajit shares he had a wonderful and creative time with the duo.
He says,”I remember the first day when we did a presentation to the team, Ananya looked a bit nervous because this song required her to dance from start to end and it’s a duet. There are no back up dancers in it. She was very nervous in the initial days of the rehearsals. I had to keep pushing her limits and motivated her through out the rehearsals. But I must say she is a very hard working girl. She never missed any rehearsal. She had so much confidence on set as a result of that. Both Ananya and Ishaan have rocked the song.”
Rajit further adds, “The song Tehas Nehas is a very cool groovy track by Vishal and Shekhar. The steps are mix of hip hop and bollywood. This was the first song we shot for the film. This song gives her the platform to showcase Ananya as a good dancer in Bollywood. The second day of the shoot went on for 22 hours at a stretch, including the last few hours in rain. Ananya was so tired before the rain sequence, because it was already 20 hours of non stop dancing but the moment we started shooting, she set fire on water.”
Speaking about Ishaan, Rajit says,” He’s amazing as a dancer. He’s trained from Shiamak Davar and in love with hiphop. He likes to do free styling on any songs that he hears. So it was very easy for me to jam with him and choreograph. We connected well. I remember Ishaan and I used to vibe on Afro music . That used to be our warm up songs before I started teaching him the steps. I sincerely wish the song Tehas Nehas makes a mark in everyone’s heart.”
Rajit’s dream of having a pure dance song has come true with this song.
