Shooting to telecast during ‘Navratri’ of ‘Dakkhancha Raja Jyotiba’
Star Pravah’s upcoming serial ‘Dakkhancha Raja Jyotiba’ held a webinar to announce the telecast date of of serial ‘Dakkhancha Raja Jyotiba’. It will start from October 23. Recently, the shooting of this serial started in Kolhapur Chitranagari. On this special occasion, media attended through e-press conference. Satish Rajwade, head of program of Star Pravah, well-known producer and director Mahesh Kothare, president of Maharashtra Devasthan Samiti Mahesh Jadhav, scholar of folk deities Dr. Vitthal Bapuji Thombre and Managing Director of Kolhapur Chitranagari Sanjay Patil graced the occasion.
‘Dakkhancha Raja Jyotiba’ is the folk deity of Maharashtra. Thousands of devotees bow down to their beloved deity, Jyotiba. Devotees have not been able to visit Jyotiba’s temple for more than six months during the Corona pandemic crisis. This hope of the devotees for the visit of their beloved deity will soon be fulfilled. Jyotiba will be visiting their homes in the form of the legendary serial ‘Dakkhancha Raja Jyotiba’. In the current situation, it is a good omen of Jyotiba coming in the form of a serial. Star Pravah and Kothare Visions have accepted this new challenge and the serial ‘Dakkhancha Raja Jyotiba’ will hit the screens from October 23 at 6.30 pm.on Star Pravah.
What is special is that the entire shooting of the serial will take place in Kolhapur city where Jyotiba Temple is situation. A magnificent set of this serial has been set up at Kolhapur Chitranagari. The shoot of this serial has given a new opportunity to the technicians, labourers and workers from Kolhapur. The serial will be shot strictly adhering to the government’s SOPs.
Commenting on the grandeur of the serial, Satish Rajwade, Head of Programmes, Star Pravah, said, ‘The serial will showcase the vision of their adorable deity through honest entertainment to the viewers and some new and familiar aspects of that deity’s life. Devotees will watch the serial regularly, and they will be able to watch the serial of their beloved Jyotiba and his glory in the comfort of their homes.’
Producer Mahesh Kothare said, ‘A grand set has been set up in Kolhapur for this serial. The work of the set has been going on for about a month and a half. Building such a grand set in Kolhapur was also a challenge. Art director Santosh Phutane is working day and night on the requirements for setting department. These include Jyotiba’s palace, Mahalakshmi’s palace, village, ashram, chroma floor etc. Also appreciated are the creations of Nilima Kothare and Nita Khandke who have done a lot of research and created costumes and jewelery for the serial. Reference of many books has been taken while doing this. I’m sure the serial will take all this to a whole new level. ‘
Mahesh Jadhav, President, West Maharashtra Devasthan Samiti, said, “Shri Jyotiba is a great personality and his persona will be explored through this serial. The Devasthan Samiti will help in all respects for the serial.’ Dr. Vitthal Bapuji Thombre is the expert advisor of this serial. He has a PhD in Marathi. He is well known in Maharashtra as a researcher, historian and writer. Managing Director of Kolhapur Chitranagari Sanjay Patil has also been instrumental in helping this serial. Swami Bal is in charge of writing the serial and Avinash Waghmare is directing it.
