Recently released Malayalam Family Drama Halal Love Story is an example of a perfect blend of emotions offering every movie lover a true delight for the head and the heart. Here are the 4 things you probably didn’t know about the movie but will give you even more reasons to watch the movie now.
Director Zakariya Mohammed’s comeback after 2 years : Zakariya earned his place as one of Malayalam cinema’s brightest young talents with his blockbuster debut Sudani From Nigeria in 2018. After two years, he is back with another heart-warming film packed with memorable characters, hilarious scenes, and feel-good fuzziness making it a must watch. Within hours of the release of Halal Love Story, the eagerly awaited film has already created a lot of buzz across social media.
On-screen reunion of Indrajith Sukumaran, Joju George, Soubin Shahir, and Parvathy Thiruvothu after VIRUS : The interesting amalgamation of veterans and the young guns as the cast in the film, including Indrajith Sukumaran, Joju George, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Soubin Shahir, after the hugely successful film Virus is delightful. While Indrajith is seen meticulously balancing two roles – one as an actor struggling to act well in the film within the film, a special mention to Nazar Karutheni for his flawless acting. One could also see Nilambur Ayisha at her best even if it was for a small role.
Hilarious plot- a movie inside a movie : A lot of the humor in the film comes from the interesting track where a film is being made within the film. Soubin Shahir, the brilliant actor from Sudani From Nigeria and Kumbalangi Nights, has a hilarious cameo as a sound recordist who shuts down the village in his quest for the perfect take. In the film, we see character Siraj (played by Joju George) finds it difficult to keep his messy personal life out of the shoot. The writer Taufeeq (played by Sharaf U Dheen) plays peacemaker to ensure that the film is completed. The haphazard life of characters is well portrayed on the screen making it a rib-tickling movie.
Real Locations, Foley sound and Soothing Music : In the film, the director has managed to keep the audiences hooked with a power-packed screenplay shot in some real locations of a village in Calicut and with local people. The background score stands out in the film and is pure Foley sound composed during the shoot and not in hi-tech studios. ‘Sundaranayavane’, the soulful melody is a gem and Muhsin Parari’s lyrics takes you to a state of bliss. The other song, ‘Bismillah’ is also a melody that will immedeitatly capture you and take you on an emotional ride.
