Riteish-Genelia, Ajay-Atul, Puneet Balan-Mahesh Limaye are hopeful with ‘Ashechi Roshanayi’ this Diwali

Diwali is the festival of lights, the joy that leads to the glory of darkness. In India, various festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm, many of which have geographical or provincial boundaries, but Diwali is celebrated with great enthusiasm by all citizens across the country. It is said that ‘Diwali is a mother of all festivals, not a loss of happiness’. Against this backdrop, young entrepreneur Puneet Balan’s ‘Puneet Balan Studios’ has produced a short film with the social message ‘Ashechi Roshanai’.

Well known Bollywood cinematographer Mahesh Limaye, well known musician Ajay-Atul and Maharashtra’s darling duo Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh and actress Genelia Deshmukh have come together for the first time for this Marathi short film. Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh Limaye, director and cinematographer of the short film, said, ‘Though lockdown has been eased, the threat of Corona has not vanished completely still. During lockdown a lot of people faced financial losses. Punit Balan brought this idea of a short film ‘Ashechi Roshnayi’. The concept was instantly liked by Rietesh Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh who came on board immediately. Music composer duo Ajay-Atul too came on board. The concept was developed by writer Kshitij Patwardhan. To the fabulous background score of Ajay-Atul, Rietesh-Genelia has done a stupendous job.”

Producer Punit Balan said, ‘We made couple of short films around Ganapati festival which received huge response for people. Lockdown was imposed in the entire country and during that period we helped thousands of people with the help of authorities. Still, quite a few are in need of help and during Diwali we’ll try to bring happiness in their lives. ‘Ashech Roshnayi’ will put sparkle in people’s lives.”

‘Ashechi Roshanai’, conceived by producer Puneet Balan, is the third consecutive production of the short film ‘Puneet Balan Studios’.  This short film is shot and directed by Mahesh Limaye. Background music is provided by composer Ajay-Atul, written by Kshitij Patwardhan and voice over by veteran actress Nina Kulkarni. Vinod Satav is the creative head of ‘Ashechi Roshanai’, while Ashwini Teranikar and Kushal Konde are the executive producers.
