Heartrending!
The film is a story of human emotions, which depicts the trials and tribulations that women in our society have gone through. Halal has already been screened at the Cannes Film Festival, Goa Film Festival, Pune International Film Festival 2016 and Aurangabad International Film Festival.

PLUS POINT
The film is packed with intense emotions and is based on a beautiful and poignant story based on the novel by Rajan Khan of same name. The film is written by Rajan Khan himself. The film portrays the family system of Indian Muslims, which is an unusual topic for Marathi films. Chinmay Mandlekar scores with his role while Pritam Kagne steals the scene with her heart rending performance. Music by Vijay Gatlewar is soothing and melodious. Priyadarshan is passable.

MINUS POINT
The film seems to have been inspired by Malayalam films like Kiluchandan Mambazham and Alif which were made long back ago with a similar theme. Though the film has been lying in the cans for want of a proper release for almost a year and a half, unfortunately it is seeing the light of the day at a time when the government has already promulgated a ban on triple talaaq

VERDICT
With its woman oriented plot, the film will surely appeal to the families at large and will be a safe bet at the box office.
