Ankita Mithal says that her role in ‘Fight Back’ can help women to stand up against domestic violence

Anyone who has watched Shipra and Shivankar Arora’s latest short film Fight Back can vouch for the fact that Ankita Mithal’s performance is brilliant. The film is currently airing on their YouTube channel Content ka Keeda. The actor plays a domestic violence victim and has done a stunning job in portraying the emotions of fear, anxiety and pain. The actor says it was the role which drove her to say yes to the project. “Unfortunately, the role I played for one day is the life that so many women all over the world live every day. I’m just glad that through this role, I can hopefully help women stand up for themselves and fight back! Art is a great teacher and through this creation of Content Ka Keeda, I just hope the message gets across beautifully and strongly. I hope women or men who are the victims of this hate crime give themselves an opportunity to get out of such a traumatic experience and lead a life of positivity and happiness as its meant to be.” says Ankita, who comes from a theatre background. She has been seen in a few ads as well as the show Naxalbari.

Ankita loved being part of the team for Fight Back. “I was very lucky to already have worked with Content Ka Keeda a while back on another one of their short films called What is Anxiety? So, through that, this project also happened. Shipra is one of the most understanding producers I’ve come across. She is patient and very observant throughout the shoot. Shivankar is a fabulous director. He knows what he wants from the actors and works in harmony with them to get the required look/emotion or whatever that is expected for that scene,” she says.

Talking about working with her co-actor Sandeep Anand, Ankita says, “Sandeep is an actor whom I’ve seen on TV for years and to get the opportunity to work with him was just as exciting and as it was nerve-racking. He’s very experienced and well trained as an actor. His demeanour while shooting and without is a very positive. I’m lucky to have got this opportunity to work with him.”
