Prajakta Mali became a household name with a Marathi daily soap ‘Julun Yeti Reshimgaathi’. Currently she’s seen compeering state’s no 1 comedy show ‘Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra’ and her infectious smile is winning hearts. Known for her sweet comedy in the Marathi film industry, Maharashtra’s “Smile Queen” Prajakta Mali is also famous for her love for hapus mangoes. As the Ratnagiri, Devgad Hapus Mango season begins, Prajakta, who once tasted his favorite fresh Hapus from the garden, celebrated the super Mango Festival at home with her family and enjoyed it heartily. At the same time, she also Hapus and various other varieties of mangoes that are harvested this year.

During the lockdown, many farmers came together to supply fresh, clean and nutritious vegetables and fruits from their fields and bring them online to deliver at the customers’ doorsteps. Prajakta praised the efforts of the famers and requested thousands of Hapus mango lovers to buy the best mangoes directly from them and hoped they can too, experience the goodness of mangoes like the ones she had. As the Covid pandemic was at peak, the farmers risked their lives and seated in fields to help millions of customers by supplying their produce directly to their homes. She suggested that many customers should continue to encourage the farmers and showcase their pride by buying directly from them.

Prajakta, who is very strict about his health and diet, was also careful when buying mangoes. While enjoying the mangoes, she also learned about the nutritional values of other varieties such as Saffron, Lalbaug, Langada, etc. through KisanKonnect’s ‘eat Right’ slogan. Through this online Mango Festival, mango growers also provided Prajakta with information on how to select and test the mangoes, the nutrients in them, the importance of mango in the diet and much more. Along with mangoes, Prajakta also bought fresh, canned vegetables and appealed to the people to buy only clean and safely handled vegetables and fruits and suggested not to leave the house as the pandemic is still raging on. 

Prajakta, who arrived in Konkan a few months ago on the tourism show ‘Mast Maharashtra’ on TV, could not hide her love for Ratnagiri Hapus mango. She was also curious enough to know when the mangoes will be ready for this season and was excited to taste them the earliest. Now that she has tasted the mangoes, she is now assured that people will now be able to enjoy the flavours of the ‘King of fruits’, and that too at their doorstep.
