‘These’ Bollywood titles are liked by ‘These’ Tele-Celebs!

Indians talk, which even includes celebrities, love and breathe cinema. Munisha Khatwani, Avinash Mukherjee, Zaan Khan, Nikkiey Chawla, Hrishikesh Pandey, Rohit Chaudhary, Ashish Johri keep talking Bollywood and their favourite films.

Even in this pandemic, film fanatics do not miss out on the latest Indian and international releases on various OTT platforms. We all have our favourite actors, directors, writers, musicians, cinematographers and so on. And, then there are certain films that we can go back again and again. Among all the existing film industries, the country shares a special bond with Bollywood. In fact, the Hindi film industry is known worldwide. Celebrities share two of their favourite Bollywood titles that they have watched several times and why. Read on:

Munisha Khatwani : The two titles that come to my mind are Lamhe (1991) and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995). I can watch them anytime, anywhere. In fact I won’t be able to correctly mention the number of times I have watched them. I never get don’t get bored watching them. I now remember scene by scene, some dialogues and all the songs by heart. I love the storyline and the performances in both the films are praiseworthy.

Avinash Mukherjee : I love Deewaar (1975) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001). I think these two films have everything that Bollywood has to offer in a balanced form and it inspires us, makes us emotional. I learn a lot every time I have watched these two films.

Zaan Khan : First would be Dil Chahta Hai (2001) because the film brought a change in the industry. And, then it is Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011) because the film offers a different take on how life is not just about work but also about living it to the fullest. Both films celebrate friendship. I also love Devdas (2002). Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s direction and Shah Rukh Khan’s performance, sets, songs, everything is so perfect. I can watch all these films even 10 times a day without getting bored.

Nikkiey Chawla : Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) tops my list of favourites. I can watch it endless times. I am a 90’s kid and this film taught the entire generation what love and friendship are about. The second one is Bajirao Mastani (2015). The intense, endless and beautiful romance fills your heart. These films tell you what true love is.

Hrishikesh Pandey : I would go with Upkar (1967) first. This Manoj Kumar film is my all time favourite for everything, plot, presentation, performance, dialogues and songs. 3 Idiots (2003) is another film where I felt all these elements were equally good. Both the films give out much required strong messages to the society. The other film that I can watch repeatedly is Agneepath. I am a huge Amitabh Bachchan fan and have grown up watching his films. In fact my entire family admires Amit ji. I fall short of words to speak about his performance in Agneepath. The film makes us realise a lot about life.

Rohit Chaudhary : There are many films but if I have to choose two of them then I would say Paan Singh Tomar (2012) and Tanu Weds Manu (2011). Both the films have powerful acting by actors like Irrfan Khan, R madhavan and Kangana Ranaut. While Paan Singh Tomar is an inspiring story of a different kind, Tanu Weds Manu makes you both laugh and cry.

Ashish Johri : Agneepath (1990) and Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) are the two Hindi films that I have been a fan of since the first day I watched them. Agneepath because of Amitabh [Bachchan] ji’s performance, and of course the dialogues, photography, direction, performances etc. Maine Maine Pyar Kiya because of the story and the freshness in the presentation. Not to forget the songs in the film that are still a hit. Both films are classics and must watch for Bollywood film addicts.
