Somy Ali, Avinash Mukherjee and Mohit Daga

Somy Ali, Avinash Mukherjee and Mohit Daga share their love for books!

Books take us on an unknown adventure with them, sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s scary, and sometimes it’s full of mysteries. Life without books means a life without any knowledge or awareness. So on World Book Day, which is observed on April 23, celebs like Somy Ali, Avinash Mukherjee and Mohit Daga talk about their love for books. Here’s what they had to say.

Somy Ali: I do audio books since I don’t get time to ready due to NMT (No More Tears). Books give us a great way to escape into another dimension. They stimulate our senses and encourage good emotional health. They enhance our vocabulary and allows us to travel through words. Books can hold and keep all kinds of information, stories, thoughts and feelings unlike anything else in this world. I would highly recommend Sula and No Visible Bruises. My recent favorites are everything by Ayaan Hirsi Ali.

Avinash Mukherjee:
I am an avid reader, and I like to read more of non-fiction books. You can say books are my constant companion. I feel people should read books more rather than spending time on their screens, because reading is a practice of your mind whereas screen time is all about consuming. This is especially for the younger generation who tend to have more of screen time rather than read time. Reading books helped me a lot during the pandemic as it kept me creatively busy and was a good workout for my brain too especially during those stressful times.

Mohit Daga:
I have been a book lover since I was a kid. From comics to biographies, I would spend my time reading them, and even now I love to read non-fiction books. When I am not shooting, I would take a book and would try to finish it soon. During the pandemic, I read a good number of books, and it kept me stress free. I feel books take your mind on a trip with them, a place where you can feel all that is happening around without worrying much.
