Producer Chitra Vakil Sharma says that ‘Tandoor’ depicts the dark side of romance!
Most of the love stories are mushy but #RashamiDesai, #TanujVirwani-starrer “#Tandoor” seems different as it depicts the dark side of romance and producer #ChitraVakilSharma believes there is a need for narrating such compelling stories.
Helmed by Nivedita Basu,”Tandoor” marks the digital debut of Rashami. Chitra is elated with the response to the trailer and songs of the upcoming webseries. “‘Tandoor’ is the gory story of love, deceit and murder and this aspect of a story also needs to be told. I had full conviction on the story and we believed it was necessary to show this side of love to the world, hence ‘Tandoor’,” Chitra says. The trailer of “Tandoor”, has garnered over two million hits and even the second music video ‘Tu Humsafar” too is receiving positive feedback.
“The response has taken us by surprise, we knew we had a good product in our hands but when the public supports in such a huge way it’s very humbling,” she adds. The makers had last week released the song ‘Tujh Bin’ and now the latest track ‘Tu Humsafar’, which is a soothing and heart-rending song, is being liked too. “It’s all over social media and the fans have been posting such lovely comments. I feel so proud to be associated with this project, Chitra says.
Talking about the concept of releasing a song for a webseries, the producer says, the aim was to explore something new. “That’s a novelty that we wanted to try as we know the OTT platform is continuously evolving and we wanted to bring in something new, yet something that’s been a part of our story narration culture since forever hence the two songs,” she explains. The crime-suspense show has piqued the curiosity of the audience and Chitra says she is both excited and nervous about the release of the series.
“The expectations have definitely made us nervous and I’m very confident of the product we have. We had a press conference and I could see the butterflies are definitely there,” she says.
