It is a half-true, half-fiction biopic. Still, it’s not enough – if you watch SANJU only once. The much awaited biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt is going entertain you to the core for sure. So, Sanju proves that Rajkumar Hirani is the best showman of Bollywood. He is indeed the best story teller and he can’t go wrong with his script, his style and his presentation. Sanju is out and out an entertainer, the mass will definitely get hooked to the film. And highlight of the movie is Ranbir Kapoor.  It is undoubtedly Ranbir’s best performance ever.

Since beginning, it becomes hard for you to realise who is the actual Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir has simply outdone himself as an actor while getting into the skin of Sanjay Dutt’s character. You will find a disappeared Ranbir in Dutt’s role. The way he has displayed Dutt’s body language – is incredible. This movie definitely does a volte face for Ranbir’s career.

Hirani knows his very well and makes it easier for them to engage with the film by broadly dividing the actor’s life into two parts — his battle with drug addiction, and the jail term for his involvement in the 1993 Mumbai blasts. Some scenes of Sanju’s ordeal at jail make you cry. Ranbir is excellent during these scenes.  Once again, I would like to mention that  junior Kapoor has forgotten his own self to make an entry to Baba’s character.

Other actors too leave a mark. Vicky Kaushal shines as Sanju’s friend Kamlesh. Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt plays his part with perfection, father-son scenes are genuinely emotional. Manisha Koirala as Nargis Dutt is like a breath of fresh air like her character. Jim Sarbh, Dia Mirza, Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor plays their roles with perfection.  All these make Sanju a MUST WATCH for all!!
