“For ‘Tadap’ I had to learn biking as my mom and dad never allowed me to ride a motorcycle”, says Ahaan Shetty!
#Bollywood’s ‘#Anna’ #MrSunilShetty’s son #AhaanShetty is following his father’s footsteps and foraying into acting with ‘#Tadap’. Coincidently his first film is full of action just like his father #SunilShetty’s debut film, ‘#Balwaan’. But Ahaan doesn’t want to be relegated to just action and wants to explore other genres too. He’s a well behaved kid probably because he never grew up in a ‘filmy’ atmosphere. All his life he has stayed in ‘Sobo’ and he never was a Bolllywood party buff just like his parents. He imbibes his mother’s quality of being patient in all situations. Ahaan Shetty had a conversation with our correspondent Keerti Kadam during one of the promotional events of his debut film ‘Tadap’.
About bagging this film he informed, “I was in Sajid Nadiadwala’s office and he suggested me to watch a Telugu film ‘RX 100’. I liked it and told him accordingly. After about couple of months he called me to his office and informed me that he is thinking of doing a remake of RX 100 and whether I’ll be interested in playing the Kartikeya’s part. There was no reason for me to say no and I started prepping for the role.” When Tara Sutaria came on board he and Tara had to go in for a screen test just to check how their pair looks on big screen. Talking about it, Ahaan said, “I am an introvert by nature. We were asked to recreate a scene from Dirty Picture. I was petrified and my whole body was shaking due to nervousness. Sajid sir still pulls my leg for it.”
As the film is a remake of Telugu film RX 100, Ahaan made sure that he doesn’t copy the lead actor Kartikeya. “The character arc is the same but we have given it a different treatment. Again the locales are different as we shot the film in Mussoorie. I have given my 100% to this film, now let’s see whether the audience accepts me or not. In fact everyone has given their best and ‘Tadap’ is a product of great teamwork. I am happy that I got to play such intricate role in my first film. There are two contrasting shades to my character and I felt like doing a double role. Tadap has given me a platform to showcase, performance, action, romance et al. I feel lucky. I couldn’t have asked for a better debut” Ahaan was talking passionately. He laughingly added, “I learnt to ride a motorcycle for this film. Ironically my Mom and Dad never allowed me to ride a motorcycle. But for this film I trained in biking for about six months and then we shot a lot of portions on it.”
Ahaan Shetty has done a film making course in the US of A and is happy that he has been taking his father’s legacy ahead. Ahaan is mighty serious about training, be it, Gymming, Martial Arts, Singing, Guitar, Dancing, Diction classes etc. He feels proud to be his father’s son and during the shoot even some spot boys and light men showered love on him as they had worked with Sunil Shetty too. He’s a very down to earth person and wants to remain so in future too, whether he becomes a star or not. ‘Even if you do not become a good actor, become a good human being’ is his father’s advice to him which he always wants follow in life.
