Vishal Furia and Pooja Sawant reunite for Bali, the director praises the actress no end!
#VishalFuria who is the director of the recently released Hindi horror film #Chhorii, which is the official remake of his Marathi movie #Lapachhapi is on a sky high! The film has received a good response from viewers, and we spoke to him about the remake, about his yet another new release Bali starring #PoojaSawant.
On working with Pooja Sawant in back to back projects, Vishal Furia said, “Working with Pooja has always been good, we had a really amazing time working for Lapachhapi, She’s somebody who embraces her character, goes to the depth of a character and she really enjoys what she does. I think she’s one of my favorite actors in the Marathi film industry. In Bali also she’s played a nice little sweet role and there’s something very interesting about that role which will stay with the audience. She’s playing a doctor’s role taking care of a kid, who’s Swapnil Joshi’s Character Shrikant’s Son, and Pooja is playing a doctor who takes care of the kid and looks after his well being. I share a a lovely chemistry with Pooja and understand where she comes from, she understands my style of working because of the extensive work that we did on Lapachhapi and Bali now.
On being asked about directing two different lead actors for the orginal and remake, Vishal said, “Yes both characters are very different because they are meant for both different kind of set-ups. Lapachhapi was more of Maharashtra based set up and Chhorii is a more North India based set up. So what happens is then the conferred differences comes in and it starts affecting the character, While Pooja’s Character did not need any prior introduction when we did Lapachhapi, here we added kind of introduction for Nushrratt’s character just to place her in the scenario because it’s a Pan India film and everybody needs to know where the character comes from. In Lapachhapi because it was a Film based only in one state it was not necessary to build her background. Also the physicality of both the films is like- So for me they’re both different films, different characters in that sense. If you ask me they both are very dear to me and I loved both of their performances. They have done exceptionally well.”
