AMU students demanded UP CM Yogi should resign from his post as he is playing with the lives of lot many people protesting against the CAA/NRC/NPR
AGRA: Scores of students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on Monday demanded the resignation of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath for the alleged police brutality against anti-CAA protestors across the state.
In a memorandum to the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, submitted through local administration, AMU students stated that the CM should resign from his post as he is playing with the lives of lot many people protesting against the CAA/NRC/NPR.
“Instead of providing safe passage to the citizens protesting against CAA, the administration is threatening and resorting to lathi charge on protestors. This shows that UP CM is not taking the situation seriously, so he should quit from his post,” reads the memorandum.

Condemning the police brutality on anti-CAA protestors, students also demanded the immediate release of all those detained in Kanpur. They also stated in the memorandum that demonstration is the fundamental right of protestors and the government should not intervene into this.
Taking out a candle march in the campus in solidarity with the protestors of Kanpur, who suffered police brutality while protesting against the contentious CAA, the students led by Students’ Coordination Committee raised slogans against UP police and demanded CM’s resignation.
