Charrul Malik is in favour of surrogacy!

It’s a personal choice… we need to know the reason behind someone opting for it before commenting on #PriyankaChopraJonas and #NickJonas opting for surrogacy to become parents started a debate on social media. Among others, author #TaslimaNasreen reacting to the same said she has nothing against the couple or to do with anyone’s personal choices but she does not support surrogacy for certain reasons. Many celebrities shared their opinion on this raging debate. Recently, anchor and actor #CharrulMalik opened up on the same. “My viewpoint is very clear. Everyone has a personal life, personal decisions. Times have changed. And it’s not about surrogacy. We need to know the reason behind their decision for opting surrogacy before commenting. There can be a lot of reasons. Be it Preity Zinta or Priyanka… They are 40+, so usually sometimes people are not able to have kids. And even if they are, they might not want to have kids because of personal commitments, professional commitments,” she says.

Charrul is against people projecting surrogacy in a negative light. “I have seen her tweet and she definitely targeted them even though she tweeted she didn’t mean it. So I don’t think this should not happen anyway. We have come a long way. If we continue thinking like this, when will we progress? That’s a very personal decision. I think this is a new trend, a new solution for the people who are unable to become parents. I take this very positively. And why not? There’s nothing wrong with this. We think it’s new because celebrities are opting for it and it’s gaining attention. But this happens in a lot of countries and we all just don’t know about it. So I take it as a blessing for them,” she adds.

The Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai and Happu Ki Ultan Paltan actor is in favour of surrogacy. “And tweets like this come every day, we can’t stop them. Yes, I think our society is progressive and we should not get involved in this. It’s sad that people still think this way. There’s reasoning behind things. People just do these kinds of tweets to attract attention. Since we are talking about her tweets now, I think woh successful rahi uski soch ko banane mein aur hum baat kar rahe hai toh hum apna viewpoint rakh rahe hai. We cannot change one’s mindset, but yes we can definitely put forth our opinion,” she concludes.
