Senseless: “Light Candle” Appeal Repeat: Sunday It’s Not Diwali. Expected That PM Modi Will Speak About Issues Such As The Plight Of The Poor Due To Lockdown.

Mumbai: We Indian are great in JUGAAD. There is a limit for such senseless things.

First bang plates, vessels, clap and make sound to scare away Corona virus.

Now lighting candle and lamp etc. We are being led blindly by all these superstitions which is never ending.

“Social distancing is the only sensible thing which can save us. Stay at home.”

Last month PM Modi had asked the masses to come out in their balconies and porches, clapping and beating utensils, to show respect to the health workers fighting the disease. He had also urged people to refrain from stepping out of their homes and maintain social distance to check the spread of the virus.

As millions answered PM’s call, social media videos showed people at several places across the nation roaming in the streets in large groups; thus, defeating the purpose of the one-day voluntary lockdown.

Two days after the “Janata Curfew”, PM Modi announced a nationwide complete shutdown, and said social distancing was the only option against the disease.

PM Modi today urged people across India to switch off their lights and hold candles, lamps and mobile flashlights at 9 pm on Sunday, April 5, for 9 minutes. The Prime Minister asserted that no one must endanger the battle against the highly contagious virus by gathering on roads.

“On April 5, Sunday, at 9 pm, I want 9 minutes from all of you. Turn off all the lights in your homes, stand at your doors or balconies and light candles, diya (lamp) or mobile flashlights for 9 minutes,” PM Modi said in a video message this morning.

The Nation were expecting PM Modi will speak about the issues and other essentials things such as plight of poor due to lockdown amidst coronavirus.
And what the government is doing It was expected that PM Modi will assure people that there was enough stock of essential commodities, masks, sanitizers, medicines and testing kits but he did not do that, but he disappointed.

“I don’t understand why they want to make an event of everything. This is nothing but foolishness, childishness,” said Mr Awhad.

“I want to announce, I am working, I meet the poor, I take care of them, give them food. I will give the money to the poor instead of spending it on oil and candles. I will keep all the lights in my house on and not light even a single candle,” the minister said.

“There is no relation between turning off lights and burning candles, with the fight against the menace of COVID-19. I believe it and that is why I will not light candles or turn off the light but continue to fight against coronavirus,” Chowdhury told ANI.
The Congress leader said that he knows he will be called anti-national for not lighting candles. “I will not light candles. I know I will be called anti-national, but I am ready,” he said.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) April 3 (ANI): Maharashtra Congress chief and state cabinet minister Balasaheb Thorat on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take the coronavirus crisis in the country more seriously.

“The country is going through a tough time as the numbers of coronavirus cases increase. During such times, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to take some firm policy decisions. It is not the Prime Minister’s job to ask people to clap or light lamps,” Thorat said.
