“The so-called negative characters give you more scope to perform”, opines Sudha Chandran!

#SudhaChandran feels that there is nothing like positive or negative shades, because each role is grey and different from each other. The #Naagin6 actor says that while playing a so-called positive part one needs to really put in a lot of effort to actually look positive and convincing. Sudha, however, enjoys playing characters with darker shades because she is not one in real life and that makes it more interesting for her. “The so-called negative characters give you more scope to perform, because the length and breadth of your performance can go to any extent. At the same time you can’t overdo it as then it becomes unreal and irritating on screen. I also love doing positive parts, I keep experimenting,” she says.

Sudha has donned many avatars. She is a dancer, actor and even a motivational speaker, and she enjoys them all.

“The point is that I don’t like being given choices as all of them have their own definition. I love dancing on stage and that is the reason for my existence. I started as a dancer and am always connected to the stage. When you’re performing and people clap and cheer for you, it’s an amazing feeling. As an actress, there are certain roles that you always want to play in real life and when you’re actually playing it on screen you enjoy it all the more. Like I always wanted to be a doctor, but I could never become a doctor. There are certain negative aspects within me that would never come out maybe because of my upbringing and culture. But when I’m playing a negative role, somewhere that dominant-negative element in me comes out and helps me to perform well. I also love motivational speaking because my life has been a big lesson for me and a lot of people. It has inspired many around the globe. When I interact with the audience and then they come up with a question and answer session it is very interesting. They come up with such unimaginable questions, you know the audiences are so smart today,” she ends.
