Music icon A.R.Rahman wins Best Background Score at IIFA; thanks Aanand L Rai!

Legendary music composer #ARRahman won an award for Best Background Score in ‘Atrangi Re’ at recently concluded #IIFA. He thanked ace storyteller Aanand L Rai for his IIFA award. Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re broke OTT records upon release! Starring #AkshayKumar, #Dhanush and #SaraAliKhan, the film came to be known for its spectacular performances, clean direction, on-point storytelling and award-winning soundtrack. The music, composed by the iconic composer A.R.Rahman, became quite the sensation last year with the song #ChakaChak becoming the flavour of the season.

To add to the chartbusting album, A.R.Rahman has now won the IIFA award at the recently held event for ‘Best Background Score’. The legend took to his social media page to thank maverick filmmaker Aanand L Rai. He wrote, “.@aanandlrai ji, when you said that you want to bring back the magic in musical love stories, you really meant it…Thank you for your respect and trust. And thank you @IIFA #EPI 🌹#AtrangiRe 🔮🪄”.

Atrangi Re’s music album was a coming together of the best minds in India’s music industry. With the lyrics being penned by Irshad Kamil, A+ singers like Daler Mehndi, Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal and even Dhanush lent their voices to the songs.
