Sony Entertainment Television’s artists wish viewers a very Happy Diwali!
Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated every year to mark the victory of good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. The day is celebrated enthusiastically across the globe with much galore. Families and loved ones gather, dress up, decorate their homes, exchange gifts and make the best out of the day. On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Sony Entertainment Television artists are all set for the festival of lights and share their plans, and memories and convey their heartwarming wishes.
Rajshree Thakur who plays the role of Pallavi in Appnapan says “Diwali, is one of the biggest festivals symbolizing the victory of light over darkness. This auspicious occasion is also one of my favourite festivals that brings the entire family together. Every year I celebrate with my family and close ones. Right from my childhood days we have been having Lakshmi puja at our place, post that we light up the house with diyas and fairy lights. And now both my daughter and I put out the rangoli, she loves to burst firecrackers, though we get her ones that are noise free. Thus, here’s wishing everyone a very happy and safe Diwali, may your lives be filled with love, light and happiness.”
Abhinav Kapoor aka Vikrant of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 says, “For me, Diwali is all about togetherness, positivity and happiness. During this season, visiting friends for Diwali parties is like full of excitement. Since my childhood, doing pooja with the family and then gorging on all the yummy sweets has been a tradition. This time, I have handpicked special gifts from my loved ones and plan to give them a surprise on the day of Diwali. I will be celebrating a cracker-free Diwali and would want everyone to follow the same. This Diwali I request all my fans to have a happy, safe and environment-friendly Diwali. Happy Diwali!”
Gaurav Dubey from The Kapil Sharma Show says, “The festival of lights always brings out the festive side in me. Decorations through lights and flowers all over the house creates altogether a different ambience. My fondest memory of Diwali is celebrating the festival at my home with my family. As a kid I used to love gathering around in my area with friends and play with firecrackers, but now I prefer celebrating a cracker-free Diwali. I’m looking forward to going home to celebrate Diwali with my family and feast on some sweets and delicacies prepared by my mother. I wish a happy Diwali and a prosperous new year to all from my side. Happy Diwali!”
Shubhaavi Choksey aka Nandini Kapoor of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 says, “Diwali is a festival of love, light and laughter. It is one of my most favourite occasions and I look forward to Diwali every year. What began as a tradition has now become a reason to meet friends and family during the festival. Taking time out from our busy lives and celebrating together is the best feeling. I enjoy decorating my home myself, I only take help if need be else I love to do everything on my own: be it putting up the lights or flowers and even rangoli. As a child I have watched my mother make a rangoli for hours and I have kept this tradition on till date though I cannot make it like her. As a family we always have a pooja at home on dhanteras followed by a family dinner. Here’s wishing everyone a very happy Diwali. While celebrating please do remember the environment.”
Rinku who plays the role of Nikhil’s sister in Appnapan shares “Like every year, Diwali is celebrated with much fanfare and joy. It is one of my favourite festivals because I can happily indulge in all the rituals, from cleaning the house to nurturing my taste buds, especially making variety of Indian sweets, decorating my house with colourful lights, rangoli, and card parties—in short, having a blockbuster night. I’m planning to conduct Pooja at my house this year, and I’ll invite all of my friends and family.”
Aetashaa Sansgiri aka Ahilyabai of Punyashlok Ahilyabai shares, “Diwali is one of my favourite festival and I eagerly wait for it every year as along with lights and it also brings in a reunion of families and friends. As a kid, I have been really fond of sweets and eagerly used to wait for Diwali as it gave me a chance to happily indulge in sweets. As a ritual, my mother used to make faral every Diwali and she still makes them and they taste absolutely lovely. I love the tradition of rangoli and I love decorating my house with lanterns and Diyas but I don’t support bursting firecrackers as it results in a lot of pollution and the same goes for this year as well. I wish everyone a Happy and a safe Diwali.”
