“SHAMEFUL ACT BY BJP-LED GOVERNMENT” KARNATAKA DISTANCING FROM THEIR OWN PEOPLE
Mumbai: Hours after the Supreme Court Orders, that directed the states to bear the cost of bus and train fares being charged from the migrants who are heading home due to loss of employment during the nationwide lockdown.
A bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, SK Kaul and MR Shah has said that migrants workers shall not be charged for any fare for the journey, either by bus or train. The cost of their travel will have to be shared between the sending and receiving states, as per their arrangments, and also to ensure that all migrant workers, who are stranded at various places, shall be provided food by the concerned state and UT.
Karnataka has again suspended incoming transport from neighbouring states to contain the swift spreading coronavirus infection in the state.
This time the list has five states instead of earlier four.
No flights, trains or other vehicles will allowed to come to the state from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, the state said today.
