A movie on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Naval Commandant ’Kanhoji Angre’

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been an inspiration to many in our country. His laurels, surprisingly,  did not reach to the common Indian. In fact he had such a fabulous army and leaders manning them that each one of them is a hero in himself. For instance, at the beginning of this ‘corona infected’ year Ajay Devgn presented Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s trusted lieutenant ‘Tanhaji’ on a big screen and it was a super duper hit. It shows people’s interest in history of Shivaji-era.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had very valuable and courageous warriors who always stood behind him in any battle. There are many a stories of these warriors from the Shivaji Maharaj era which have not reached the common people. After the success of films like ‘Farzand’, Fatehshikst’ quite a few new films are being made, in different languages, on the said era, projecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s warrior heroes. During that period one of the trusted officers of Shivaji’s Army was Kanhoji Angre. He was Shivaji’s naval commandant and was feared by everyone including European navy. Kanhoji was a master of guerrilla war-tactics and was considered the best in naval war-activities.

Kanhoji Angre’s laurels will be filmed in an upcoming film ‘Kanhoji Angre’ by director-cinematographer Janardan Jadhav. It’s produced by Rahul Bhosle and presented by Kreative Madaries. Written by Dr Sudhir Nikam the film is expected to go on floors soon.

The team of this film will bring ’Kanhoji Angre’ in 2022 with the aim of spreading the heroic saga of Kanhoji Angre to every person.
