A powerful coming of age story about class divide, labour issues, truth and humanity, ‘Dafan’
The taste of modern audiences has changed drastically these days. Apart from big screen movies, short films have gained importance. Keeping viewer’s taste in mind a lot of short films are being made and they are getting International acceptance too. Produced by Madmidaas Films and directed by Adeeb Rais a new short film ‘Dafan’ has just released.
Vishal, a young assistant civil engineer from Mumbai is thrown into a challenging situation by his boss. He has to cover up for a horrific accident of a labourer that has taken place at their construction site. With the victim’s future dangling between life and death, Vishal struggles to find his way out of this crisis, amongst the local police, journalists, doctors, and union leaders.
As time passes, the situation only gets more critical for Vishal as his morals and job responsibilities begin to go against each other. Which side will he choose? Will the truth prevail?
In Dafan, Neena Kulkarni plays Dr. Vaze, Adeeb Rais portrays Vishal, Asst, Civil Engineer, Ahsaas Channa is reprising the role of a Journalist Tara and Akshar Kothari plays Inspector Apte. Set in a ‘Manor’, a small village in Maharashtra, ‘Dafan’ is a powerful coming of age story about class divide, labour issues, truth and humanity.
