A spot boy was a celebrity for Showman Subhash Ghai’s Pardes muhurat
Ritu Chaudhary was a big name in modelling industry and was noticed by showman Subhas Ghai who introduced her in Bollywood. Mahima was the screen name adopted for Ritu when she was to debut in Pardes, which also had Shahrukh Khan. This rarest of rare picture shows the first day of shoot with Mahima Chaudhary with an innovative and unique mahurat from the evergreen blockbuster PARDES at the Agra temple. Subhash Ghai and Mahima started with a small Pooja before shooting the very first shot at the famous Kailash temple at the banks of river Yamuna in Agra.
Showman of Bollywood Subhash Ghai had all his previous Mahurats in the big Bollywood style with celebrities attending it. But the highlight was for the Pardes mahurat was one of his units spot boy Bahadur Singh giving the first mahurat clap instead of any other celebrity. Shahrukh Khan, the hero of Pardes and every one in the unit appreciated producer, director Subhash Ghai to give so much respect to his last but important unit member.
Incidentally, Pardes ran for 50 weeks in theatres, and was a super duper hit film which cemented Mahima’s place in Bollywood.
