Aamir Khan Shocked by Elli AvrRam’s Fluent Marathi in’Ilu Ilu 1998′!

Bollywood actress Elli AvrRam has officially stepped into Marathi cinema with her debut film, *#IluIlu1998*, which hit theaters on January 31, 2025. Directed by #AjinkyaBapuPhalke and produced by Phalke Films Entertainment, the film is a nostalgic romantic drama set in the 1990s. Elli plays the role of Ms. Pinto, a modern Goan Catholic English teacher who unknowingly becomes the object of admiration for a 14-year-old student.

Elli expressed her excitement about the project, sharing how deeply she connected with the story. The 1990s have such a distinct charm and simplicity, and it was crucial for me to reflect that in Ms. Pinto’s persona. A significant part of my preparation involved learning Marathi because I wanted to dub the film in my own voice. I took coaching from Kedar Ji, who patiently guided me through the language. Learning Marathi and dubbing it myself was a journey filled with challenges but also immense satisfaction. It allowed me to bring authenticity to my character and fully immerse myself in the role,” she said.

#AamirKhan Impressed by Elli’s Marathi, Says He Wants to Do a Marathi Film The film caught the attention of Bollywood superstar and perfectionist Aamir Khan, who attended a special screening of *Ilu Ilu 1998* with his son-in-law Nupur Shikhare and his mother, Pritam Shikhare. Aamir, who is known for his keen eye for detail, was left in awe of Elli’s performance and her impressive Marathi diction.

Speaking at the event, Aamir praised Elli, saying, *“Elli has done such a wonderful job in Marathi, and I was honestly shocked! Wow, you actually spoke Marathi so fluently. it was amazing to hear. Seeing this makes me want to do a Marathi film myself. Whenever I get the chance, sooner or later, I will definitely do one.”*

With such high praise from Aamir Khan, Elli’s debut in #Marathicinema is already creating waves. *Ilu Ilu 1998* is currently playing in theaters, offering audiences a heartwarming journey back to the ‘90s, made even more special by Elli AvrRam’s dedication and authenticity.
