Ace director Rajkumar Hirani opines, “Awards matter when they are credible”!
Renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is a part of the esteemed advisory council of The Times of India Film Awards (TOIFA) OTT Edition 2023. Hirani, known for his unforgettable masterpieces like 3 idiots, PK, Sanju, the Munna Bhai franchise, and more, brings his perspective and experience to TOIFA, reinforcing its goal of honoring true talent and hard work. The event will be held on 27th July in Mumbai.
“The realisation that credibility matters is a good start,” says Hirani. He believes that acknowledging the credibility matters, is the first step towards restoring faith in the awards process. Even though he rarely attends awards shows, TOIFA’s focus on credibility convinced him to be a part of its advisory council. This realization sets the foundation for a trustworthy and respected awards show.
Hirani further praises TOIFA’s efforts, stating, “I feel there is an effort being made to create credible awards shows, and that effort counts. Coming from someone as big as The Times of India, to realise that awards have lost credibility and there’s a need to reinstate that means a lot.”
Hirani concludes his statement by calling for collective support from the industry and the public, “If someone is making that effort, it should be supported.” His statement encourages everyone to rally behind initiatives aimed at restoring credibility, ensuring that awards shows continue to inspire excellence, continued creativity and hard work.
