After two years, a happening Holi for these tele-celebs!
Be it rain dances or playing with gulaal, #Holi is here in all its glory! Here is how these celebrities are going to play the #festivalofcolours this year.
Hasan Zaidi : I don’t know how much Holi would be allowed in terms of our society guidelines. it used to be very good before the pandemic. There used to be rain dances, everyone used to enjoy themselves, enjoy playing with colours, with each other and indulging in beautiful things. There is a very dear friend who has planned a Holi party and there will be good food and good music. My entire family really enjoys the festival, especially my daughter. We have to enjoy ourselves but be responsible as well. Holi brings a lot of happiness. It’s a great level where no one is rich or poor. No one is Hindu or Muslim. It’s Holi. And Holi ke rango mein sab ek samaan ho jate hai. And since childhood Holi has been very dear to our heart. Rang Barse is my favourite song and it’s always been because this is what I grew up with. My favourite colour is Yellow. A lot of people like pink Gulaal but, for me, yellow is beautiful.
Pranav Misshra : I will be shooting on Holi, but if I’m not shooting, then I will probably have a get together with my friends. I have already played Holi on the set with my Bade Acche Lagte Hain family. The significance of Holi would be good over evil. Holi brings lots of positivity. My favourite colour is pinkish gulaal, as I’m from the Gulaabi Nagri that is Jaipur. My favourite song is Holi khele raghubeera, that song is such a Holi vibe.
Aparna Dixit : I have always been very excited for Holi, it’s one of my favourite festivals and I like everything that is associated with Holi; colours and happiness, laughter and dancing. Mostly I have been in Mumbai for Holi and I have either celebrated it with family or friends. But this year, I will celebrate it with my friends with a really nice get-together, lots and lots of splashing of colours and water. Like how, it’s said, ‘Bura na mano Holi hai. So I think Holi is the day when you should forget all grudges, all disappointments and bring in new hope. That’s what I try to do and that’s what Holi signifies for me.
Nilam Kenia : We have planned a small family getting together. Holi signifies the triumph of good over evil so, yes, for me that is the significance of the festival. My favourite colour is red, but I like all colors. My favourite song will be Rang Barse and Balam Pichkari.
Mitu : It’s my daughter’s birthday on Holi so, for us, it’s a double celebration. I have great memories of Holi from childhood. We used to make groups and go and paint the colony red. It used to be a day of fun and frolic. All colours are my favourite as long as they are herbal. My favourite song is Balam Pichkari from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. It’s young, vibrant and celebrates Holi in a festive manner.
Aditya Deshmukh : This year if the shooting schedule is there, then we might shoot. My mom makes fabulous puranpolis and I enjoy eating them on Holi. She makes it with kesari jaggery and it’s amazing. This time I would be getting it for my co-actors as well. In our building Holika Dahan takes place which is a mark of prosperity. Holi is a festival of positivity. We all apply Gulal to each other. When we were children, we used to make water balloons with plastic. On Holi, all of us gather near our building and spend quality time. We also play games like Housie and Antakshari. Rang Barse is my favourite song and my favourite colour is red gulal and it represents something sacred. I love Rang Barse because of Amitabh Bacchan ji. The way he has grooved to the song is really amazing. I also love Balam Pichkari from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. You will see me performing on that song very soon.
Saanand Verma : Holi is always about colours, Gulaal, eating Malpua and having fun, meeting friends, drinking thandai; and that’s exactly my plan. Basically rangeen bana denge mahol ko ekdum. Holi signifies India’s multicolour culture and the beauty of Indian culture and the Hindu Culture is seen during Holi. It’s one of the most important and fun festival for Hindus. My favourite colour is red and my favourite Holi song is “Holi ke din dil khil jaate hai, rango me rang mil jaate hai” from the movie Sholey.
Charrul Malik : I don’t have extensive plans, I will be shooting on Holi. I honestly feel like I have already celebrated Holi because on Bhabhiji there is a very special track of Holi coming up where we have done Shayari and played with colours. We are in a field where we celebrate all the festivals with so much enthusiasm and energy, ‘ekdum dhoom dhaam se, so mostly I will be shooting. But if I’m not shooting on Holi, then I will be home, meet a couple of friends, use organic colours. For me, on any festival, we eat good food and dancing. For me, Holi is the most vibrant and most colourful festivals of India and it’s a day of forgiveness, friendliness, equality. We celebrate two days of Holi; one is Choti Holi and Badi Holi. On Choti Holi, we do Holika Dahan and on Badi Holi, we play it with colours and pitchkari and eat lots of gujiya. Holi brings us all together, people meet each other, spend time with each other.
Tushar Agarwal : This year I’ll celebrate Holi with my family and cousins as generally the whole year we keep working only. So it’s a treat to be with family during the festival. It’s a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships. Generally, my favourite colour is black but on Holi all colours are best and my favourite.
Muskan Verma : I will celebrate Holi this year with my family and relatives in Uttarakhand. This is the first time that I have got a break on Holi after coming to Mumbai, I just completed my shoot for Avinash Mishra’s web show. I have got leave, so I will enjoy with my family and relatives and my Kanha Ji. As I am Lord Krishna’s devotee, Holi is most significant festival for me because Faag Mahotsav and Barsana’s Holi are very popular among Lord Krishna’s devotees. It is a festival of love and amity among society and I feel that such festivals are really needed today. On Holi, we forget all our enmity and inequality and focus on spreading love and peace. I like many colours but red and white are my most favourite colours.
