Ajay Devgn pushes release of Maidaan to next year’s Independence Day week
Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan, a film which celebrates the biggest sport in the world based on Football, revisits and tells the story of the time period regarded as the golden era of Indian football. The film captures the various angles that made the decade from 1952 until 1962, the most remarkable in Indian football history. Maidaan, a sports drama directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, stars Ajay Devgn essaying the role of Syed Abdul Rahim known as the architect of modern Indian football. National Award winner Keerthy Suresh will be making her Hindi film debut with Maidaan. The film is based on the golden era of Indian footbal.
Due to Covid 19 pandemic hindi-film-release-calendar has gone topsy-turvy. Due to multiple pick down and increasing corona-patients in the country, movie theatres are going to remain closed indefinitely. A lot of films are opting an OTT platform to release their films as theatres are closed. Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan too was too release this year but the makers have opted for a new date for theatre release.
Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan has got a new release date. A story of change and self-belief, Maidaan will release the next Independence Day week, 13th August 2021. The film also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and the well known Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh. Maidaan is a biographical sports film directed by Amit Ravindrenath Sharma and jointly produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta, screenplay and dialogues are written by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah respectively.
The film ‘Maidaan’ is set to release on 13 August 2021.
