Alka Yagnik reveals how music helped heal her father’s loss
Zee TV’s popular singing reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs has won the hearts of audiences yet again post lockdown as the supremely talented contestants delivered some phenomenal performances during the grand comeback episode on 18th July. This week, the viewers are in for a treat as popular Ramayan stars Arun Govil (Ram), Deepika Chikhalia (Sita) and Sunil Lehri (Laxman) and Mahabharat star Punit Issar (Duryodhan) will be seen visiting the sets to encourage the contestants in a mythological special episode! Apart from the special guests, the talented youngsters were seen impressing the judges with their singing skills. However, it will be Ranita Banerjee who not only left the audience in awe of her talent, but also reminded Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs judge Alka Yagnik of an emotional moment in her life.

Remembering this overwhelming moment of her life, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs judge Alka said, “Although my mother was my guru, I was very close to my father and I went through depression when I lost him. I refused to even leave the house! Around the same time, Anu Malik offered me this song and told me that he would wait till the time I was ready to sing as he knew what I was going through. He would visit me often and call me every day just to ensure that I was feeling fine. When I finally recorded the song, those few hours when I was engrossed in singing, it helped me forget everything and the circumstances I was dealing with. Music is a healer in true sense.”
While Alka Yagnik’s heartfelt trip down memory lane is sure to inspire the audience, this week the viewers will also in for a treat with Ram, Laxman, Sita and Duryodhan in the house. They will surely witness some interesting stories along with some special acts by the supremely talented Li’l Champs.
