#AmbrishBobby as #RameshPrasadMishra and #FarhanaFatema as Shanti to be seen in &TV’s brand-new show, ‘#AurBhaiKyaChalRahaHai?’ &TV presents its brand-new light-hearted fiction show,’ Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai?, capturing the long-standing Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb of Lucknow through the two families – the Mishras and the Mirzas, cohabiting in an old nawabi haweli. Each wishing to own the haveli and not share it with the other leads to constant bickering and amusing scuffles around everyday issues and incidents. To bring alive the true Lucknowi essence in every facet, flavour, character and storyline, the makers of ‘Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai?’ have roped in local talents for the lead roles.
Lucknow-based actors Ambrish Bobby and Farhana Fatema will portray Ramesh Prasad Mishra’s and Shanti Mishra’s roles, respectively. The Mishra’s are seen as a power duo, always one step ahead of their neighbours. Together they have the fighting spirit of a lion. But everyone knows that it is not the lion but the lioness, our own Shanti, who has the last word. Ambrish has spent more than a decade in the industry and has left his mark in the theatre and small screen circuit.
Speaking about grabbing an opportunity to portray the lead character of Ramesh Prasad Mishra’s role, Ambrish shares, “Although I have been working for quite some time and have played a plethora of parts across a variety of genre, the comedy genre is a first for me. I am excited as well as equally nervous. I do not have formal training in acting as such, but with God’s grace and sheer hard work and practice, I can fit into the character as per the script’s demands. Having been born and bred in Lucknow, I could easily relate to Ramesh Prasad’s role, giving the mannerisms and way of life of a Lucknow native. I am quite familiar with the dialect as well. The character of Ramesh Prasad is amusing and entertaining. He owns paan ki dukaan, which is famous in Bajariya and quite well-known in Lucknow. He has only one motive that is to be the talk of the town. He keeps making up stories so that more people discuss him. He tries to take control over the people of Bajariya. Our show is refreshingly different in its light-hearted narrative and projects the true essence of the Lucknowni culture, that the audience will instantly connect.”
Farhana Fatema, who will be playing Ram Chandra’s wife, Shanti, is a well-known face in the entertainment industry. With about 16 years of experience, Farhana has been a part of numerous daily soaps and films. She is also a postgraduate in Kathak dance and has also trained many students. On her role as Shanti, Farhana shares, “I have done a variety of roles in my career, but the role of Shanti is different. I enjoy comical roles, and finally, after four to five years, my dream has come true! Talking about my character, Shanti and I have contrasting personalities, making the portrayal challenging for me. Shanti is loud, blunt, and straight-forward, so I had to train myself to reflect on the character. She has the only goal in her life- to stay one step ahead of her padosi Sakina. Her life revolves around daily soaps, which she shares with Sakina. I am quite excited about this show as I will be back on screen after a break of two years. I can’t wait to see how the audience reacts to the show and our characters. I even look forward to spending time and have fun both on and off-screen with the team.”
