Vadodara, the cultural capital of India and famously known as the “#SanskariCity,” is gearing up for a spectacular musical event. The live Antakshri competition, hosted by the legendary Annu Kapoor and renowned lyricist, entrepreneur, and IIT alumnus Kumarr of Studio Refuel, promises to be an unforgettable celebration of music and culture.
At a press meet, Annu Kapoor and Kumarr introduced the concept of a new “Parampara” (tradition) by symbolically washing the feet of women, signifying respect and gratitude towards women as the essence of culture and tradition.
The live Antakshri show will take place on 14th December 2024, with auditions scheduled for 12th and 13th December in Vadodara. The top 24 finalists will form six teams to compete in the grand finale. The winners will receive exciting cash prizes.
This event is more than just a competition; it marks the beginning of a new tradition in Vadodara. Kumarr, who recently launched the popular radio show “Ae Zindagi Gale Laga Le” with Padma Shri Suresh Wadkar, envisions creating a blend of culture and entertainment. His “Radio Column by Kumarr” has already earned him a dedicated following in Vadodara, and this live Antakshri event aims to take his cultural mission to new heights.
A successful businessman and IIT alumnus, Kumarr is deeply passionate about preserving cultural heritage. His love for music and traditions inspires him to curate events that resonate with people of all ages. He said:“Vadodara is a city with a rich cultural legacy. Through this live Antakshri, we aim to celebrate the joy of music and tradition while providing a platform for local talent. This event is our effort to keep our sanskaar alive and ensure they are passed on to the next generation.”
Let the melodies transport you to a world of joy and tradition.
