Arjun Mathur’s double celebrations, a vacation to celebrate his birthday and International Emmys nomination
Arjun Mathur has many reasons to celebrate. The good looking and supremely talented actor just won himself a nomination at the International Emmy Awards in the Best Performance By An Actor category, for his portrayal of a homosexual man in the Amazon Prime original series, Made In Heaven. The results for the same will be announced by the end of the next month.
To celebrate the huge achievement, the actor is taking off for a short trip. What also makes this trip special is that he is turning a year older. To mark the special day, he will be driving to Hilton Shillim, a resort in a small village, Pavana Nagar, near Lonavala.
Talking about it, he says, “I am humbled and still under a little shock about bagging a nomination at the International Emmys. I thought my birthday would be a good occasion to drive to Pavana to celebrate both. It is going to be a short trip and a much needed break too. I am really looking forward to having a fun time.”
Arjun proved his mettle with his very first projects. He was discovered by the likes of filmmakers Mira Nair and Farhan Akhtar in shorts films Migration and Positive, which won him wide critical acclaim. His film choices are a testament to the fact that he is a risk-taker who has not shied away from taking the unconventional path. Known to be a millennial actor who has made edgy choices, he has stuck the right balance between content and commerce.
Even before the concept of web shows gained momentum, Arjun was a part of a youth-centric mini-series titled Bring On The Night in 2012. In the past few years, he has successfully dabbled in films and the OTT space.
On the work front, Arjun was recently seen in Gone Game, a web show, which he shot at home during the ongoing pandemic. He garnered critical acclaim for his performance.
