Ashish Srivastav says, ‘Melodies make us feel better, and also activate our brain to perform well’!

#AshishSrivastav feels life is incomplete without music. According to the director, music has the power to uplift our mood, enrich our mind and soothe our souls even during difficult times. “We can actually relate to our inner feelings with music. Melodies make us feel better, and also activate our brain to perform well. Good music relaxes our mind. I like soft, simple music of the nineties. Songs from films like Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Parinda and so on,” says the director, who has helmed popular shows such as Shaadi Mubarak, Yeh Rishte Hai Pyar Ke, Piya Albela and Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki.

Ashish is fond of Arijit Singh and Udit Narayan. “There are versatile. Their voices are magical, they make you feel the song they sing,” he adds.

Talking about his favourite songs, he shares, “I generally listen to soft music whenever I get time. I don’t have a selected playlist. But yes I do listen to the FM, songs from the films and singers I mentioned quite often. There are also times when I listen to new artists.”

Not many know that Ashish can play the congo. “When I was in school, I learnt to play the instrument. Tab kuch ar karne k liye samai milta tha abhi to itna kuch hai school main ki kuch aur karne ka waqt hi nahi hai. I remember performing at annual functions, at home, while with friends too,” he recollects his growing up days.
