‘Atrangi Re’ to recommence shoot with Madurai schedule

All shootings were banned during lockdown but with ‘Mission Begin Again’ initiative of the government entertainment industry is given permission to restart shoots, of course with restrictions. Akshay Kumar, Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan starrer ‘Atrangi Re’ too had to stall shoot due to lockdown. Now the makers plan to restart the shoot of the film in Madurai, Tamilnadu, From coming October. The story traces a journey of Akshay Kumar’s character from Bihar to Tamilnadu. It’s a fun film with situational comedy involving all the central characters who could be termed weird, by some.

As the Covid 19 pandemic’s threat is still looming large on everybody many makers are preferring indoor shoots. But Atrangi Re unit will be shooting outdoors too, of course with all the necessary precautions and guidelines laid down by the authorities. The entire cast and crew is expected to be isolated with all the safety protocols during the shoot.

Directed by Anand L Rai who also has written the script with Himanshu Sharma ‘Atrangi Re; will have music score by A R Rahman. Incidentally Sara plays a double role and she’ll be paired with Akshay and Dhanush in different eras.
