‘Bappa’ memories of Karan Bendre and Sharayu Sonawane of ‘Prem Poison Panga’
As the Ganapati festivities are around the corner, due to social distancing norms, public celebrations will not happen. But like every year marathi television serials will welcome Bappa with fanfare. Zee Yuva’s Prem Poison Panga artists Karan Bendre and Sharayu Sonawane share their feelings about their beloved Ganapati Bappa.
Karan Bendre (Prem Poison Panga – Zee Yuva)
I have many memories of Ganeshotsav. One of these heartfelt memory is from ‘Lalbaug Cha Raja’. Visiting Lalbaug Cha Raja is considered that he fulfils your wishes, brings your dreams to fruition. Once I made plans with my friends to visit ‘Raja’, but at the eleventh hour I received a call for dubbing. I was disappointed, so were my friends. But to my surprise, dubbing was to happen around Lalbaug. We were exhilarated and thanked Bappa for this. I was mesmerised because it’s rarely that dubbings happen in Lalbaug. When I took ‘darshan’ and felt that Bappa’s eyes were extra shining and were blessing me in a special way. I was the most satisfied devotee that night.
Sharayu Sonawane (Love Poison Panga – Zee Yuva)
At our home we welcome Ganapati Bappa every year with glee. Obviously I do have many memories about Bappa. Earlier we used to celebrate 7-day Ganapati festivities at home but we children forced our parents to extend it to 10-11 days. They did agree much to our happiness. Last year’s Bappa memory is special because I started contributing, maybe in a small way, to save the environment movement. We had an organic mud idol and after immersing it we planted a sapling there. It’s getting bigger and this year too we plan to plant one. I urge everyone to follow this. Also as the corona virus is still around I request everyone to stay safe during celebrations.
