Inspired by Hollywood film ‘Taxi Driver’, Mahesh Bhatt directorial Sadak (traslated as Road) was released in 1991 which starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the lead. The film is fondly remembered for the late Sadashiv Amrapurkar’s award-winning performance as the film’s villain, Maharani. It’s sequel Sadak 2 is slated for release digitally, due to closed theatres because of corona virus inflicted multiple lockdowns.

Sadak 2 Which is produced by Mukesh Bhatt under their banner Vishesh Films. The sequel stars Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film marks Mahesh Bhatt’s return as a director after 20 years. The film is about Ravi’s depression and how he helps a young woman’s encounter with a godman, who is out to expose this fake guru running an ashram. The film’s trailer was released on 12 August 2020 on YouTube, and within a week, it became the second most-disliked video on the website due to vote brigading.
