Contestants of MasterChef India put their best plates forward!

In order to determine this season’s “#MasterChefIndia” champion, #SonyEntertainmentTelevision and #SonyLIV have chosen their top 16 home cooks to battle. Competition for the Top 16 is pulling out all the stops as chefs #RanveerBrar, #GarimaArora, and #VikasKhanna will continue to evaluate the dishes based on the criteria of TIP (Taste, Innovation, and Precision). On Friday, January 13th, home cooks will take on the challenging task of replicating a meal made by world-famous chefs Ranveer and Vikas. #PriyankaKunduBiswas, from Kolkata, and #SantaSarmah, from Jagiroad Vill Amlighat, Assam, will be seen trying to wow the judges with their culinary creations.

Chef Ranveer Brar will begin the competition by announcing which home cook would prepare which of the chefs’ dishes, his or Chef Vikas’. The chefs will also analyse Priyanka’s edge as the reigning queen of baking. Santa, who does not want to be eliminated so soon, will be seen working hard to imitate Chef Ranveer Brar’s meal, while Priyanka will find Chef Vikas Khanna’s dish to be a bit tricky, but both contestants will be doing their best to prepare a dish comparable to the chefs’. Priyanka’s selfless act of kindness towards ‘Baa’ will leave viewers in admiration. She will interrupt her own meal preparations in order to assist Baa, delaying her own meal’s completion by a few minutes, but she will show no remorse because she is pleased to be of assistance to Baa. Santa will be the first of the home cooks to finish her meal while Priyanka will run behind schedule.

A source close to the set shares, “Judges will be impressed by the presentation of Santa’s food, as it will be quite similar to Chef Ranveer’s dish.” She would be overjoyed at the prospect of recreating a dish by her favourite chef. “Judges will also be talking to Priyanka about how assisting others is wonderful but should not come at the cost of one’s own,” the source adds.

Talking about the experience Priyanka Kundu Biswas shares, “I wish I had more time to complete the task properly. I’m pleased to be of assistance to Baa; had my own grandma been able to cook at her advanced age, I, too, would have left my own preparations to do so. I count myself extremely fortunate to be able to pick the brains of all the home cooks every day.”

Talking about the experience Santa Sarmah shares, “I am incredibly delighted that I got to prepare a dish of my favourite chef, I also made a crayfish for the first time, and I am just so grateful for the opportunity I receive every single day to grow and learn on ‘Master Chef India.”’

Tune in to watch ‘MasterChef India’ every Monday to Friday at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television and streaming on SonyLIV.
