Cricket fever catches over in ‘Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’

Cricket is considered religion in India. And with annual IPL season commencing during the pandemic, people are more than excited. With the nation enamoured with the cricket fever, so let us talk about the Gharelu Mazedaar Gyaraah Ki Team of &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan. Starting with Katori Amma (Himani Shivpuri) as Captain, and head of the family jiska aadesh sabko maanna padta hai. Then comes the Dabangg Dulhaniya, Rajesh (Kamna Pathak) as Vice-Captain, known always to speak her mind, jiske aage Daroga Happu Singh (Yogesh Tripathi) ki bilkul bhi nahi chalti. He parades around his mohalla as Sher of Modern Colony but turns into a Bheegi Billiat home.

Then comes Kate (Ashna Kishore) with her Thahakedaar English, Malaika (Zahara Sethjiwala) a fair-minded and a disciplinarian by nature; Ranbir (Somya Azad) a wannabe singer, Mastikhor Hritik (Aryan Prajapati) who loves mimicking, Chamchi (Zaara Warsi) with her Chamchagiri and Padhaku Ayushman (Arnav Tata) and two little ones in the cradle.  What makes this family unique and entertaining are their constant nok-jhoks and typical Kanpuria one-liners, Niyocchavar Kar Do, Arrey Dada, Gurde Chheel Denge, Kantaap, Nimbu Nichod Denge, Bhaukal, Chiraand. Katori Amma is a stubborn and unpersuadable but has her unique charm. She is exceptionally caring and protective towards her son while there is an eternal entertaining feud between Rajesh and her.

Happu, in trying to impress the commissioner to get a promotion, often lands himself in trouble. Dabangg Rajesh is a daring woman with a bindaas attitude, who likes to have full control over her husband and keeps bickering to him with her lengthy list of complaints against Katori Amma. The eldest daughter, Kate, is often taunted by the second eldest Malaika for her broken English. The most notorious lot are Ranbir, Hritik and Chamchi, always up to some mischief. Their Dadi, Katori Amma back up the trio and that is how they get away with their shaitaniyans. The only obedient and studious child is Ayushman. And of course, the two new-borns that completes this Mazedaar Gyaraah Ki Paltan. A family that sticks together through thick and thin, creating a laughter riot with their misadventures and nok-jhoks.
