‘Dahaad’ actor Sohum Shah says, “A well-written character allows you to deliver your best effort”!

#SohumShah is without a doubt an actor who is making waves. From movies such as #ShipofTheseus, #Talvar, #Simran, and #Tumbbad to web series like #BardofBlood, Maharani series and the recently-released Dahaad, the prolific actor has always excelled in portraying challenging, distinct, and memorable characters. Speaking to a leading wire agency, the actor recently revealed how landed the role of the cop in Dahaad, for which he has become the talk of the town once again.

The actor, who had previously played a CBI officer in the Irrfan Khan-starrer Talvar, was keen on playing a man in uniform and urged Reema Kagti, the director of Dahaad to let him play a ‘vardi waala’ cop. Sohum said, “I play a cop in this series. I had played a CBI cop in Talvar, but this time I asked Reema Kagti to make me a Vardi waala cop in the series… yaar is baar toh uniform pehanane ko mile (at least this timeI’ll get to play a cop in uniform)!”

Talking about his character and how he developed it he pointed out that being from the small town of Sri Ganganagar helped him prepare for the role. He explained, “I think writing is a very difficult job. As actors, we rely on good stories to enhance our performance. A well-written character allows you to deliver your best effort. We, actors, bring our personalities and life experiences to the characters we play. Fortunately, I am from a tiny town, which really aided my success in this series.”

Sohum has an interesting and envious line-up ahead which also includes hisproduction venture ‘CrazXy’.
